Thanks for your response. This is my first time flying solo w/ AD & DNS, so
pardon all my questions in advance.

What do you mean by DNS server path? When I launch the DNS MMC, I don't see
anything refering to my DNS server path?

I ran DCDIAG with the /? switch, but didn't see anything alluding to
importing DNS srv records.

When you say try telling the DC to look at it's own DNS, do you mean in the
IP configuration? The first DNS server entry in the IP settings is 127.0.0.1
but that isn't helping.
