I didn't see what version of AD you were running. How many DC's do you
have? Have you tried:
1) A gpupdate /force on the workstation
2) Changing the password length field to not defined in the Domain Security
policy and then running gpupdate /force on the workstation
If it still does not work after steps #1 and #2, post back.
