Hello Esther,

I do not have any experience using the loopback adapter, but either
VMWare or VPC allows you to define if the Virtual Machines or PCs
should be running in a network with communication to the host only,
bridged to the network or NATed to the Network.

Just go in the properties of the machine and set the Network Interface
to communicate with the host only. In VPC that option is called "Local
Only", in VMWare its called "Host Only". No need to use the loopback
adapter.
