Not able to remove the active directory

I am not able to remove one of my additinal domain
controller in my microsoft network.I had recently promoted
this domain controller for some other reason.when i run
dcpromo and trying to demote it gives me the error

The directory service failed to replicate off changes made
locally.

The dsa operation is unable to proceed beacuse of a dns
lookup failure.

How ever nslookup gives me the right name while lookup
and dns is okay.
During the process of promotion of server i had changed
the name of the server.Now i am able to ping the both
names to same ip address.i had fulshed the dns even it is
same .urgent help please ....
