A system is always as secure as your system admin chooses to make it -
it's mostly about properly ADMINISTERING a system, rather than an
inherent "more or less secure" architecture.

Typical Microsoft basher - we know those guys.....

Yes, they can - but quite frankly, if you don't already HAVE Novell in
a big way, AVOID putting it in! It's a dog - don't even get me started
on the Novell client software..... what a crapload of .........
There's a ton of really good AD vs. NDS case studies and whitepapers
on Microsoft's site - then again, this guy will probably point out all
the Novell propaganda on NDS vs. AD - it's a tie.
AD case studies (in general):

Just search microsoft.com for "Active Directory NDS" and you'll find
quite a few more hits
My biggest PRO AD vote would be simplicity - if you can limit yourself
to just ONE system (Active Directory), then you don't have any
interoperability hassles, your admin don't need to know about another
*two* technologies, and not many folks become really proficient in
both systems - most are either AD guys also going NDS admin (or the
other way around).
And quite frankly, I do *NOT* see Novell NDS as a truly viable
alternative to be the only directory service in your company (unless,
as I mentioned before, you've already heavily invested in Novell).
Just my 2 cents.....
Marc
