I installed windows 2000 server with active directory. I use a cable modem.
When I turn on my computer, I get a dynamic IP address that works for
probably a few hours. After that, I cannot access the internet. When I
check my IP address it will read, 169.245.23.9. I have to reboot to get my
IP address back from my Cable provider. I spoke with the cable modem people
and the say that there's nothing wrong from their end. I believe it to be
true because when I plug the cable modem into my laptop that's running
Windows XP, I never get this problem. I think the problem is with my
Windows 2000 server and maybe the Active directory. Can someone please help
me? Thanks.
