Hello Reggie,

additional what Herb and Ace said: if you have a NT4 Network right now, and you
are using policies, be aware that installing Windows XP Clients in such a
environment will "Tattoo" those Policies into the Registry of the Clients. If
you are upgrading any systems I'd prefer to go to Active Directory first, then
upgrade or reinstall the clients to W2k or XP.

If we are talking about Windows 2000 it doesn't matter that much, but you have
quite some policies harder to implement with a AD of a older OS than the Client
OS. Therefor thinking about the implementation of policies I'd rather go with
the Directory first again which enables the Client-Design Project to take
advantage of all possibilities when it comes to policies.

Finally: Please keep in mind that the newsgroups here are mostly monitored and
question answered by "volunteers" which also enjoy the community and the
exchange - it's polite to keep questions and answers in here so that others are
able to follow the conversations too. Thank you for understanding this. And
last: if you post your real email adress you might get hit by spammers, I'd
recommend modifiying it like mine or Ace's example (or anything else which is
understandable by humans but not machines ;-) ).

Gruesse - Sincerely,

Ulf B. Simon-Weidner
