Interestingly enough there seems to be 2 KB articles on the subject of
upgrading a W2K domain to accept 2003 domain controllers.

The particular KB article I used was:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;325379

This article appears much more comprehensive than the one referred too
above, but does not have the "backup the Schema Master and disconnect" step.

I ran this through about 4 months back with no problems. I did try it on our
test forest first though :)

Mind you the backup and disconnection of the Schema master does seem a good
idea - just in case it all goes wrong :)
