I have searched for a solution to this for a while now.

We had an Old NT4 domain (trusted) with our current (now 2003) domain. No
one EVER logged into the NT4 domain beyond using the Exchange 5.5 server.
It was a trusted domain, so it showed in the "Log in to:" drop-down list for
    the clients.

However, the last of the NT4 servers were removed weeks ago and yet the
    choice is persistent.

Even on cleanly installed PCs, the old domain is listed as a choice.
Disjoin/rejoin a PC to the domain - no help.
Windows 2000 and Windows XP clients only.
Only Windows 2003 DCs and two Windows 2000 member servers.
    dcache/dcacheupdate has no effect.

How can I eliminate the choice on all of my clients for the older
    non-existent domain?
What simple thing have I not found?
