protected media

I hacw onw computer and only one. I recorded a TV movie which ws protected. That is, I could not copy it. I was able to watch it until I moved it yo another directory. Now I get a COPYING PROHIBITED message. Why> How do I get around this? I just want to watch the movie I recored and was able to watch before.
