Re: Cannot close Media Center, black screen

Sorry I provide no assistance with receivers since I do no have one and they all seem to work differently. Some user's route their video direct to their TVs and just the audio to their receiver.

I will try your suggestion. I notice that I can set the resolution to 59 Hz
which in VMC is reported as 59.94 Hz, without having problems with the
pixelmapping on my screen.
To set the resolution to ~60Hz is though a bit strange in a part of the
world where everything is centered around 50Hz (including the TV-programs).
But I will try it out.

While I have you on "the line":
I the beginning tried to connect my PC to the TV through the HDMI-switch in
my Yamaha RX-V633 receiver (and thus get rid of some cables).
But every time I closed my TV, the Yamaha somehow told the PC I did not have
a monitor any more, and the PC consequently uninstalled the TV and defaulted
to some weird resolution I think the Yamaha has for its internal GUI.
Starting the TV again doesn't help. To me it appears as no handskaking takes
place, like it does between my stand-alone Sony Bluray and the
Yamaha/TV-kombination.
It this behavior something to expect for a Media Center PC (that Windows and
ATI hardware cannot interact with non-PC hardware), or do you know of a way
to make the handshaking take place so my TV comes back to 1920x1080 59,934 Hz?
Or to make my PC disregard the messages from the Yamaha and stay locked on
1920x1080 59,934 Hz regardless of what video-messages is reported back
through the HDMI-cable?
/Roger :-)

I notice from page 40 of your users manual that it appears that you should
be using PC mode over HDMI with 1920x1080 @59.934 and not TV mode @60.
