There should be a Recovery Partition. Don't you have any such?

the reinstallation disk was made by me months ago from same computer...it
loads, just wont let me past product key# info....
dell never sent original reinstall disk...
just got off with them and they told me key# is for original, not
backup...they also told me backup disk is incase original is cracked/broken,
so if key# is for original why make backup?....
that shut them up as they had no answer...
anyway i know about sound driver...it does not crash system, just wont
install...
i honestly dont know exactly how long dll error has been coming up, atleast
a couple of months....

You probably need to check with Dell support to find out why the reinstall
disk won't work with your key.
As S.Sengupta wrote the error is related to your sound driver, but it sounds
like some other files may be corrupt on the hard drive. You said you can't
reinstall the sound drivers, does that crash the system or it won't run at
all?
When did this start... after an update or install of something?
Do you have (or know someone who has) a retail or boot copy of XP that you
could boot from and run some diagnostics or run the recovery tool?
Do you have any other errors in the event log?
