Re: Vista MCE - No photos in library

All the files in the folders are JPG. I renamed a few to JPEG and it made no difference.
I added a new folder and copied some pics to it. I added folder to the library and MCE detected the files and saidit was adding them but they turned up blank.
I have not installed anything new. MCE has been working OK since I installed Vista back in 2008.
Are there any MCE logs I can check?

What kind(s) of files are in the folders in your picture library?
all .jpg? if you rename one to the extension .jpeg does Media Center
see it? Are there other types of files with bmp, etc. that do not
display?
if renaming a jpg to jpeg fixes this, there is a registry entry that
can be modified that may fix this. but first let's see what happens
with this renaming test.
also, did you install anything like Nero, Roxiok, Adobe or other
image handling/editing programs?

I open MC on local PC and browse to Picture Library I do not see anything.
When I open Windows Explorer I see all my photos. MC shows all my folders
and sub-folders but does not see a single photo. I see the same behavior
when running my MC locally on PC or using XBOX extender.
What I meant to say earlier was I removed and added the Photos folder from
the Picture Library but the problem still exists. All my other media is
present in the library as expected using the locall MC as well as the
extender.
Vista Ultimate SP1 is the OS.

Do you see them on the host PC and not the extender? Your
description was not very clear on what the problem is.
If you see them on the host PC and not the extender, I'd try
removing the extender affiliation and setting it up again, forcing a
rebuild of the library.
If you can't see on the host PC, that is a different problem. Do you
see the files in Windows Explorer?
You say there are no photos in the library and then you talk about
*music*
Please post a better description of what the trouble is.

there
are no photos in the library. All my Music and Videos work OK. I removed
music folder from library and added it back. No files were found. I
checked permissions on the folder and the MCX1 account has full control of
the folders.
I'm not really sure where to start troubleshooting. Any Ideas?
