Re: Movies freeze

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

In XP, go to Control Panel, choose Add or Remove Programs.

On the left side, click on "Set Program Access and Defaults

Expand the "Custom" settings (if they are not showing).

Change the Default Media Player.

Actually, this is a Media Center forum, not Media Player (two very different
things), so posting your question in a Media Player forum would get
more/better help.

However, if all you want to do is use a different play, then either start
that player an load the DVD you wish to play or change the Program Access
and Defaults so the other player is your default Media Device. The exact
steps are somewhat dependent on whatever OS you are using.

Thanks James,
it seems our last posts crossed. I listen to my movies in Media
Center. Which application exactly is in charge of putting them to the
screen, I am not too sure. Which is why I came to this forum first.
The movies I am playing are NOT on DVD, but they are files on the
server. I start them from the "My Videos" MCE menu.

Are you saying there is a way to replace Media Player with another
player for the same seemless integration as there is now with Media
Player?
