There is a work-around that some people use. You can rip the DVD to the hard
drive in a different format and create a library of movies that can be
played on the Extender.

That is a bit of work if you just want to put a borrowed or rented DVD in
the Vista computer and watch one time however.

It was posted that there is a work around that works. And that is to
