I'd be a little hesitant to pay $50 for something that normally goes for over $200. That one isn't the only device of that nature you can find, and the selling prices are comparable.

I have used DVI to HDMI cables, and the only issue I have found is the disparity between PC video and TV resolutions. Seemed (seems) tough not to get black bars or missing edges somewhere.
I do have a few TVs with VGA/DVI inputs and those are wonderful. I could use the TV as a monitor outside the MCE interface, and no resolution issues.

I'm trying to hook up my MCE 2005 to a HDTV with HDMI inputs. No VGA
inputs. (I can't use a video card because my computer only has the
regular, PCI slot that is way to slow.) Some helpful person name Cory
suggested a Startech VGA to HDMI converter. The specs are...

Has anybody tried this? They only cost less then $50.00 shipped on
ebay, so I'm considered it. However, I wanted somebody opinion who
actually tried it on a Microsoft Media Center 2005. It's either
buying this or buying a new TV with VGA inputs.
thanks,
.
