As I said in my first post, I'll be out of town for at least a week, so this
will be my last reply until the end of December.
I tried MCE multi mon, and I'm not sure it's working properly, but it does
do the job anyway. I was able to display MCE on my primary monitor.
This is much appreciated. The part that does not seem to be working is that
the screen blacked out completely except for the mouse pointer, and the
speakers emitted white noise. Pressing the windows start key returned the
MCE window in max size, but went black again when I click the mouse button.
By repeating the process over and over I was able to navigate MCE and do
things. However, performance slowed to a crawl.
When I return I'll test it some more. For now I leave the problem open.
Thanks

I learned something trying S. Sengupta's suggestion, but no, it does not
solve my problem.
Hint: I want to display MCE window on my primary monitor. I.e, transfer
the MCE window from monitor #2 (the TV) to the primary monitor, and using
ONLY the resources on the primary monitor. Any attempt to do so causes the
mouse pointer to disappear, for instance right clicking on the MCE icon on
the windows tool bar does this, and the right click fails!
Since the TV is in another room, I would like to accomplish this without
even looking at the 2nd monitor display.

I’m not entirely sure this odd problem is best asked in this topic, but it
does have to do almost entirely with Media Center.
I have dual screen and the mouse cursor disappears when I try to access the
Media Centre window. The solution I seek is to be able to re-display Media
Centre window on my monitor screen, not the TV screen, using the options and
controls from the monitor screen (the primary monitor), as I’ll explain in
more detail.
By cursor I'm referring to the arrow that one moves with the mouse to select
or drag items, etc. I have Windows XP with all the service packs.
The problem started when I made my monitor dual screen. The old monitor
remains the primary monitor, and my second monitor is a 52 inch LCD TV.
The two monitor connections work OK.
I should explain an extra COMPLICATION is that the TV is in another room.
Therefore I wish to keep control of all windows (especially Media Edition)
from the monitor, but so far am unable.
What I did is open Media Center on my monitor and moved the non-maximized
window sideways (with my mouse) so that is appeared on the TV. Then I
maximized the window using the tool bar in the primary screen, and the Media
Center fills my TV screen fully, as expected and desired. But now I find
that I cannot redisplay the Media Centre Window on the primary monitor screen
anymore! and also when I open Media Center it now automatically displays on
the TV ONLY. In other words, Media Center window is stuck on the secondary
TV monitor, and I cannot move the window back to the monitor.
The solution I seek is to be able to re-display, on demand, Media Centre
window on my monitor screen , not the TV screen, using the options and
controls from the monitor screen (the primary monitor). The difficulty is
that, when I attempt to do so, the mouse cursor disappears! It happens ONLY
when I click the Media Centre Icon on the Windows Tool Bar (ie the bar that
appears at the bottom of the screen that includes the Start icon and the
time). Other non media center icons to have that effect.
When I click on Media Centre Bar the cursor disappears from both screens.
This also happens when right clicking the icon,....note that no (right icon)
selection menu appears. Also when I try hot keys such as alt-screen, they
work OK on other windows but seem to fail when I attempt to apply such to the
media centre window.
I do have a partial work around to re-display the mouse: by pressing the
Windows Start key to get the start menu), I find that I can slide the mouse
cursor sideways back to the primary monitor screen.
So the current situation is that Media Centre is stuck on the TV and
maximized. I cannot minimize, or restore down the size, or move it. My
needs require that I can watch Media Center videos on the primary monitor in
one room, and at other times on the TV in another room.
Hope someone can help.
Note: I’ve never used the Media Centre remote.
Note: note after today, I will be out of town, and might not be able to
respond further for 8 to 14 days.
