Re: MCE stops detecting tuner

How would that explain it working at one point then suddenly not?

The TerraTec program works because it does not require that both tuners can be used concurrently, or that analog signal inputs be included.
However, most importantly is that it supplies its own mpeg decoder so is not using the same one that MC is which is most likely the one supplied with Vista.
I don't suspect the USB ports for the reason you mentioned.
I would suspect any drivers received via Win Update as they are often out of date or not compatible with your system for some other reason.

The tuner worked with Media Center until it spuriously stopped one day. I should add that Windows Update has a driver for it too.

I suspect it might be my USB ports as they are being a bit temperamental, but yet why would terratec home cinema work...

Thanks anyway

I could find no information at the TerraTec website to indicate that it supports either MCE 2005 or Media Center on Vista. However, MC may support it's DVB-T tuner if its driver meets DBA specs.

Media Center has randomly stopped detecting my Cinergy Hybrid T USB XS on my computer, though TerraTec's own software still works with it.

I did nothing that could have broke this. Any idea whats up?
