Yes, just make sure that the card you install supports MC with an encoder chip such as the Hauppauge 150.

Yes, I have read that link before. Thanks.
I am not trying to hook up cable as the source. Only OTA analog, OTA digital, and Satellite TV via S-video. You say that with my card, the total number of sources that are configurable in MC is two. My 2250 card currently is setup with one tuner on OTA analog and one tuner on OTA digital and it is working fine in MC. If I leave that alone and get another tuner card that has an S-video input, can I connect my Satellite receiver to that S-video connection, and then will MC be able to handle those three sources?
"Curious" <mailmenot@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:OysHBQnSJHA.5200@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxRead the following link carefully:

It appears that the card contains two hybrid analog/ATSC tuners and with MC you cannot configure both tuners of a hybrid tuners since both tuners of a hybrid tuner can not be used concurrently.
Also note that there is only one antenna/cable connection so if using cable as the source you do not have access to OTA ATSC digital channels.
Standard Vista MC can support 2 analog and 2 digital tuners as long as they are configured separately.
Also Vista MC does not currently support clear QAM cable channels.
With the 2250 card the total number of sources configurable in MC is 2.
"Ken Triebold" <xpres@xxxxxxx> wrote in message news:O6Bjc1mSJHA.1160@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxYes, that's fine. If one of the analog encoders is tied up with the S-video, can I also receive one analog and one digital OTA? Or two digital OTA's plus the S-video? Either way, the total number of sources is three, which is beyond the limit of two in Vista MCE. How do I get around that?
"Curious" <mailmenot@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:%23nCfGcmSJHA.4576@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxYour card has two analog tuners and two analog to MPEG2 encoder chips. Since the S-input is analog it has to use one of the analog encoder chips so that leaves one encoder left so only one analog tuner can be used.
"Ken Triebold" <xpres@xxxxxxx> wrote in message news:uZtKCUlSJHA.5344@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI have a Hauppauge Wintv-HVR-2250 TV tuner card. This card has two tuners and also an S-video input that you can use for a Satellite TV receiver. I am currently running this card on my Vista Home Premium system and only have the two TV tuners running. It is working fine. I would really like to add the Satellite TV receiver to the S-video input on the card, but I understand that the maximum number of sources allowed on Media Center is two. Is there a work-around for this that would allow me to connect the Satellite TV receiver in addition to the two tuners? If not, I hope that future versions of Media Center will allow more than two input sources.
