Re: Hauppauge 150MCE

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

After running the HCWDriverInstall I usally get the message (first time after hwclear) "Driver has NOT been updated. Compatible hardware has not been found". I then run the program again and this time I get the message "Drivers have been updated successfully".

When I look in Device Manager it's the same ting. And MC says the card hasn't been found.

Am I supposed to install the drivers from the cd / downloaded files after doing a HWClean and rebooted ?

I have tried to do both, but it still doesn't find the TV card when looking in Deveice Manager.

What is the most correct thing to do ?

TIA

MJ

Use HCWClear.exe to remove all the exsisting drivers software, and registry entries.Reboot the system.

Now OS should detect the hardware.Vista has it's own decoder,so there is no need to install any extra decoder.

Hi,

I getting to the point where I'm giving up...

TV Tuner card not found....!

I can't make my Vista Premium detect my Hauppauge 150MCE TV tuner card. When I look in Device Manager I can see 2 unknown devices, which has something to do with the 150MCE cards.

I have tried just about anything including following the installation guide on Hauppauges homepage.

I have also downloaded the 3.2 cd and installed the drives (have tried with the old cd and other versions as well).
I have installed nVidia Pure video.
I have installed Hauppauge MPEG decoder.
I have tried with different drivers from Hauppauge which often results in memory dump and restart.
Each time I have to do a boot in savemode and then remove the device. Then I run HWClear from Hauppauge

I rememeber that I have the same problems a few years back when installing the card on XP. I can't remember what suddenly made it work the last time and I don't know if the solution works on Vista (eventhough it is the same problem).

I hope someone can help me with my frustration.

Many thankz in advanved.

PS. I have no problem using Media Center while playing .avi and such. It's "only" the tv part that doesn't work.
