RESTRICTED CONTENT VISTA MC PROBLEMS

I dont know about the experts here but this si my experience and
opinion. While I like VMC I indeed wish there were ways to customize
it more to my liking. DVR-MS I wish there was another format to record
tv shows in. Anyway here is what I recently found out. I upgraded VMC
with all the needed updates and then guess what??? I sstarted having
problems. A couple of them have already been discussed here. Like the
fact that you cant pause a show for a long period of time and come
back to it. Not so bad but annoying. The worst though was that after
the update many of my normally recorded TV shows were now showing
restricted content. So I could not burn them or transfer them to
another PC for editing or anything. This annoyed me to no end. Because
I archive a good many shows for my wife and children. Now as there was
no solution to this dilemma I was indeed frustrated. No solution
anywhere. These TV shows even music videos were restricted content. I
thought at this point I cant stand this and this just wont do so maybe
I will have to leave VMC and go to one of the other popular media
center programs that are NOT from microsoft. But guess what I found
out that by bringing my media center back in time to prior the needed
updates, everything goes back to working perfectly. Every show is back
to normal and no restricted content crap. This works great for me and
as far as I am concerned I will NEVER update the machine because I
dont trust the microsoft updates and frankly I dont need them. I hope
this helps anyone who has been getting restricted content. It sure
helped me.
