Re: Extenders cannot create MCX user account

Hi Barb,

Thx for your reply. Can't we rule out IP-probs, when I can ping it, or?

I have tried to disconnect the router from the switch, but get the same
problem.
I have also tried to connect the PC and Extender directly to the router,
which is a 4-port, but get the very same result.
Tried once to direct connect PC and Extender (via patch panel), but then I
get no network detection, so cannot continue to setup.

Please note that I have had XBOX + 1 Linksys Extender working, but Linksys
Support pursuaded me into removing these in order to start from scratch. Now
I cannot re-connect any of them (GRRR).

don't know if the Netopia router is Vista/MCE certified. I'd

the PC to rule out issues with the router capabilities.

Trying to connect my extenders to Vista (2x Linksys DMA2200 & 1x XBOX 360).
All extenders are detected in Media Center, and I can also ping them from
the cmd.
However, configuration fails are the first 2 check marks, and immediately
after the extender drivers has succesfully installed.
The Eventviewer gives Event ID 507 & Event ID 405 (-205). Digging into these
tells my that it fails to create the Mcx1 user account.

Anyone know how I can solve this problem?
