Re: can't view HD (ATSC) Channels in XP Media Center

Settings mode uses different driver interface functions to your card then live or recorded mode uses,
First I suggest that you try the other Cyber link decoder that is MC compatible.
Can you play any previously recorded or sample recorded programs with MC?
Can you play a DVD using MC?
Did the problem first occur when you got your system back from the shop with the different version of Power DVD installed?

Hello agaian curious, I hope your still with me : ) I DO have ALL updates
installed and I am running .NET Framework 3.0 and Update 3.
I have both my Charter cable and my HD powered antenna connected to my card.
When I run setup it finds both my cable and HD channels just fine. The
signals for HD are geat.
I can view cable channels with NO problem.
When I try to view HD channels I recieve the following message: Application
Failure. A critical Media Center process has failed. Please restart your
computer and try again. If the problem persists contact your manufacturewr
for further assisstance.
I have ALL of the latest ATI drivers.
I have shown you my codecs in previous posts.
The codec I am using right now to watch cable is Cyberlink SAC Video Decoder
CLVSD.ax 6.0.0.2212
The weird thin gis, when I run the new Cyberlink Live program I can view
BOTH HD and cable in the settings interface!!!! What is going on????

MC does not support QAM so the question in MC center setup is not relevant
your answer should be analog. The question is really for MC use if you were
using a digital STB to receive digital channels from your cable company
which you were then feeding to your analog tuner.
With decoder check which of the decoders that you listed do you have
selected as the preferred decoder?
Do you have any problem playing DVDs in MC?
Do you have any problem configuring and watching analog TV with your cable
service connected to analog input connector?
Do you also have all of the updates to MCE 2005 installed?
