But I don't have Nero, and you have to pay to get it. I used to be able to
do this for free, and don't want to pay any more money for something that the
computer is supposed to do.

You don't save the files as an .iso file, you burn them to a DVD image.
file on your hard drive. That image is the .iso file. If you're using
Nero, it's an .nrg file: just change the extension to .iso.

I do have videoredo Plus, but I don't believe the files can be saved as an
ISO file. I really don't want to pay anymore money for something that I used
to be able to do with ease, for free (well, after all the dough shelled out
to Microsoft for Vista in the first place).

I use videoredo plus. (videoredo.com) edit out commercials and resave.
I have not tried the videoredo tv suite.

I can burn ISO files. If someone could tell me how to convert a dvr.ms
file to ISO, that would be great. I can burn the files with Creator Basic
(comes with Vista) super-quick and with no problems. So how does on
convert dvr.ms to ISO?

Hi,
When I try to burn a recorded tv program onto dvd, Windows media centre
has a message saying the the file type is not supported. Does this mean
that I can not burn recorded tv onto DVD?
I have a dvd burner which supports dvd+-RW and I was using a dvd-rw.
Thanks,
Justin
Justin,
Just read your question. I have exactly the same trouble and each time I
try to burn a DVD I get a message saying "MC Extensibility Host has
stopped working" and then Media Centre closes down.
I wonder if you have a good solution yet?
