Re: Media Center Missing and Photo Gallery

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Ok, thank you for your help. I ran the sfc /scannow.
It did detect some corrupted files that could not be repaired.
I am having trouble doing the following --

To determine which files could not be repaired by the System File Checker
tool, follow these steps: 1. Open an elevated command prompt.
2. Type the following command, and then press ENTER:
findstr /C:"[SR] Cannot repair member file" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log
sfcdetails.txt

To get to an elevated command prompt I did the following:

Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All
Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run
as administrator.

I get a command prompt of: c:\Windows\system32> and then I type findstr /C
etc... and press enter. Nothing happens.

Am I doing this from the correct command prompt?

If no joy, return it for a replacement that works.

No, neither of them show. But I did change the setting for when I insert
a
digital camera card for Windows to automatically view pictures in WIndows
Media Center and Media Center did come up. Although I wasn't able to view
my
pictures.

Do you see them when you click Start>Programs?

I have a new Gateway notebook running Windows Vista Home Premium. I
went
to
add pictures from my digital camera and I noticed I am missing Media
Center
and Photo Gallery. What could have happened to these. Can I get them
back?
Thank you.
