Viewing TV tuner in a window

I recently did some maintainance on my PC (registry cleanup, windows updates,
etc) and all went well and i had no problems for a few days, everything
worked as normal. Then i tried to watch live TV in a window (something i do
alot without any problems) but when it transfered from full screen to a
window Media centre reported 'Stopped' as if i was watching a recorded
program and pressed STOP. I pressed 'OK' 'Live TV' etc nothing would start
the TV again and it will either crash my PC or report an error....
EHshell.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Service
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=0x1084(4228), Thread id=0xafc(2812)
Then i have to terminate Media centre.
I did see an error message once reporting a missing file but i cant generate
the same message again so i cant say what the file name is.
I have tried undoing regclean and rolling back drivers but nothing works.
I do not have install discs, only a recovery partition (as supplied by
Hewlett packard) but this will reset the whole thing to factory defaults and
as i have had my PC for 3 years with several upgrades i dont think this is an
option.
Also, around the same time as the cleanup I updated Zone Alarm and installed
Corel WinDVD9.
PLEASE HELP !!! I hate my PC getting the better of me but i have to admit
defeat this time :(
My system is:-
HP Pavilion
Windows XP Media Center Edition Service Pack 2
Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II
Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS
