It looks like my tuner is an Lumanate Angel II MPEG Dual-TV Tuner

.Hello,.
Thanks for the quick reply.
I am running MCE2005. I looked at the tuner card and cannot identifu the
make or model. It came from Dell with my XPS 410. I don't see anything in
device manager to identify it.
The reason it asked for the IR device is that I told it I had a STB so I
could try some of the other display options. I did try antenna as well with
no luck.
The display reminds me of how the display would look when on the wrong
channel with one of those old TV/Game switches you used to have use with the
Atari's and other game consoles.

MC will look for an IR receiver if you tell it you have a STB.
It would certainly help us to help you if we knew what make and model of
tuner card you have and what driver release you are using for it.
It would also help to know if you are running MCE2005 or Vista MC.
Have you tried telling MC that you have an antenna instead of cable?

Hello,
When I try to watch live TV using Media Center the picture is horrible. It
is hard to make out what is going on and the picture flips across the
screen.
It looks almost as if something is set to the wrong channel. The audio is
fine.
I have gone through the setup numerous times. My cable tv is directly
connected to the tuner card in my Dell XPS 410.
I tried going through the setup and telling it I had a satellite or
set-top
tuner. Through these options it let me try 3 different channels for
signal.
Channel 2 looked like what I see, channel 3 looked much better but a bit
fuzzy, channel 4 had no signal. Unfortunately, though, as this is not the
correct setup for my direct cable connection I have to abort because it
keeps
telling me IR hardware not dtected.
This used to work fine. Somewhere along the line the picture went and I
just
figured maybe something was wrong with the cable itself. It is definitely
not
the cable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
