menu, choose Internet Options, and the Delete Browser History feature. One
of the options is to clear Passwords. Sometimes these passwords are stored
in cookies and clearing the cookies and history cache will clear all of
those automatic items.

Thanks for responding. The first response I received may have had good
intentions, but I felt a condescending tone. In all honesty , I reviewed
my
post and saw a lack of detail. My question is not about any e-mail
program.
It is about Windows XP “Auto Complete”. The part of windows that
functions
like the old “DOS Key” . It holds things in it’s memory and anticipates
your
typing. In the case of passwords it offers the opportunity to save
usernames
and passwords. When a mistake is made, it does not allow correction. So…
for
example if one types in:

USERNAME: johnboe
PASSWORD: password

Then allows the “save username and password… when in fact the correct
information was:

USERNAME: jondoe
PASSWORD: password

Not only does it not allow a change… it does not even offer an opportunity
to save a username that is very similar. I was giving an example of the
last
case I last encountered. In reflection I should have been more clear. I am
not asking about any other program. I am asking about Microsoft Windows XP
Media Center “Auto Complete” function.

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. There are still those of us
that remember the control held over the old operating systems. In
retrospect
I do realize that some of my questions regarding newer OSs may have seemed
as
though I was seeking more rudimentary information.

I accidently typed in an incorrect e-mail address. I then chose to
save
address and password. When I realized there was a typo in the
address I
deleted it. The system will not ask me to save it again. Is there a
