Re: CONVERT DVR-MS to SMALL FORMAT & HOW TO BURN

I use Nero Recode to convert to mp4 files- if yo want you can recode the mp4
to dvd video also- use high quality 2 passes and set recode for the size of
your dvd disk. Also can use vso dvix to dvd to recode avi files

As far as I know, I now have all the right stuff for Media Center (2005)
to
work: Sonic Encoders (are now there - where missing); Sonic Cineplayer (I
gather that this is the burn plug-in that is compt. with MCE); NVIDIA Pure
Video Decoders Gold (had a problem with existing decoders not playing
MPEG-2
video & MCE would crash to a blue screen). Am I missing anything?

I have and can record from TV and burned a movie (2 hours) from Media
Center
(took about 3-4 hours to convert and burn). Is it suppose to take this
long?

The dvr-ms files are too big - space (even with 2). Would like to convert
the size/format and to 'burn' to a disk to view on my TV which is not
hooked
up to Media Center. How do I do this?

Once it is in a smaller format (e.g. wmv), do you burn it in Media Center
or
take the new video file and burn it on to disk using a different program,
e.g. Nero, Sonic Cineplayer or other (suggest)?

Will it fit onto a DVD-+R disk? And will it be playable in a DVD player?

Need some guidance and direction.

Thanks, Happy New Year 2008,
