Except there are more and more PC shipped without PS/2 ports at all and I
think the OP may be in that situation.

The USB KB should work at startup, else you wouldn't be able to get into the
BIOS.

Do you have a PS2 keyboard and mouse you can connect to the computer?
If not go buy a cheap PS2 Keyboard and Mouse.

If so you can likely get access to the computer and restore the last known
good restore point.

USB keyboards require that the USB systems work at boot, if you have
deleted the drivers from the hard drive, the only way to get going again
is with a PS2 KB and Mouse.

PS2 drivers are in the BIOS of the Motherboard, so they should work when
the USB system is gone.

That was my point, if it doesn't recognize the keyboard at bootup, you
have a different problem than Windows drivers. Windows has nothing to do
with your system recognizing the KB at bootup, that is all hardware; the
Windows drivers take over once Windows loads.

Besides if your system can't see the KB even before Windows loads, how
are you going to re-install Windows? You need the KB for that as well.

I can't hit F8; it doesn't recognise the kb. I've been advised to reload
windows (which I will try in the morning) to see if that works.
