To update you: I ended up removing the wireless card (PCI) and the problem
was resolved. I'm now using a USB wireless adapter and everything is running
fine. No more CPU usage issues. I can't understand why one minute everything
was fine and the next minute I'm pulling my hair out for a couple days.
Perhaps it was an updated driver either from the AV or Microsoft that caused
the issue. Thanks again for the assistance.

The problem could stem from the wifi drivers/software directly or their
interaction with other software/drivers on your system (eg. AV or video). A
couple of the USB WiFi adapters I have (both with the same chipset) have
Wlan utilities that are prone to memory leaks and also are known to go into
high CPU usage situations when interracting with certain antivirus software.
The difference here being that I can see the specific files causing the high
CPU usage.

Thanks for the help. To update you on what I've done. I updated the BIOS,
complete re-install of the OS, then re-installed my video, sound, wireless
card drivers. Everything was great until I installed the wireless
drivers/utility. CPU is still hovering around 40%. I don't understand how
this all of a sudden would just start up. Even a re-install of the OS
didn't
resolve it. None of the items listed in the program you suggested are
showing
continous CPU usage. At the top of the top of the window it does howeve
show
CPU usage flutuation with (interrupts & DPC's) the interrupts fluctuates
btwn
12-20 and DPC's btwn 18-25or so. What are these? And is this normal?
System
idle process is at 55-60 from within (Process Explorer as well). AS for
the
items listed below CPU lists shows nothing (only an ocassinonal pop up of
0.7? for services.exe

exactly should I be looking for? I've ran my virus scan (Avast 4.7),
Adware,
Windows defender and Spybot search & destroy from both a normal boot
and
safe
mode and they all come back clean no infections. I don't really know
where
to
begin. The only two things I did prior to this issue were update video
card
drivers (Nvidia) and uninstall a game I had on the PC (Lock-on). There
are
no
strange entries under my 'Start up' tab within MSCONFIG. I keep track
of
all
new entries anytime I install software. I've kept a list since
purchasing
the
computer of all the entries within MSCONFIG. Everything listed still
matches
my check list.
Just to add I mentioned that uninstalling my wireless card does
away with the issue. Well I also found out that if I uninstall the
video
card
drivers it does away with the issue as well. Funny thing is if I
install
the
video drivers again everything works great until I increase the screen
resolution from 800x600 to 1440x900 then my CPU stays pegged at 40% or
so.
If
I decrease the resolution/or uninstall the drivers the CPU usage drops
to
little or nothing. Strange ehh.
