Re: How do I prevent Media Center from resetting all my timers tom

Thanks, but that's not my problem. I got up at 1:28 and checked my settings.
The bf that was scheduled for 12:00-2:35 was recording. I checked its
settings and they were still correct, so I went back to bed. When I got up
this morning, I discovered that it had quit recording that bf at 1:35, so I
checked the settings again. They said 12:00-1:35.

My problem is not that my computer changes time automatically; my problem is
that MC changes my schedule. This happens every year.

One year, it reset my timers every Tuesday, when the computer calibrated its
clock with the atomic clock. I had to turn off that automatic calibration to
get it to stop resetting my timers.

Tech support didn't even understand my problem.

Maybe....

In Windows XP, not MCE, double click the clock. On the Time Zone tab uncheck
Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes.

Then your computer should ignore the time change. You would of course have
to manually set your computers clock to the correct time. Be sure you have
the correct Time Zone selected also.

We home school and get our classes via satellite to our computer. I
currently
have 49 recordings scheduled every week.

Every year, when the time changes, Media Center up and changes all my
programmed recording times, sometimes as much as two hours. It will also
list
one time on the schedule, but when I click on that item, it lists a
different
time. Every year, one or more blockfeeds ( a week of classes is broadcast
at
a time) is messed up.

I spend a long time on the phone with a techie one year, but he never even
understood the problem. Needless to say, he didn't solve it! I am really
tired of this.

Is there any way to get MC to act as if I know what I'm doing? Or am I
ever
condemned to trying to outguess this program?
