Re: XVID/AVI's in Vista Media Center

Hi Ralf,

I actually have FFDSHOW installed which I believe incorporates the XVID/DivX
codes etc - all extensions are accurate and correct but none show in Media
Center, these are files hosted on an additional networked PC, I presume that
wouldn't make a difference?

Cheers, @sh

You do have an Xvid CODEC or equivelent installed? Video files with AVI,
MPG and WMV extensions should automatically show up in MC, others won't.
Check in those folders using Explorer with file extensions 'unhidden' to
confirm that the files you have actually have .avi extensions. Explorer
will show picture (from the video) thumbnails for AVIs when the required
codec is installed.

Guys,

I've set Media Center in Vista to look at watched folders containing AVI
files, however when browsing within MC to Pictures/Videos, none of my
AVI's are found, infact it states '0 files'.

Why is this?

Appreciate your help!

Cheers, @sh
