You should be able to purchase the media from Dell, as long as you purchased the machine from them in the first place.

I am trying to fix my friends laptop. It's a dell Inspiron 9400 and came with
a copy of Media centre installed and a product key on the bottom of the
laptop but no installation CD. Is there any way I can retrieve a copy of said
CD using the product key, possibly by downloading from microsoft? Thank you
very much.
