I m having problems with my MS XP Media Center Edition getting the TV remote
control to work properly. I have an ATI 9000 low profile video card which I
use MS Media Center to record and playback TV. Sometime ago the remote began
getting hung up repeating commands until it overflowed its buffer. I’d have
to completely reboot to fix it then just use the screen controls with my
Mouse to watch TV.

I was searching the MS Discussion groups and KB articles when I came across
KB331913 . It describes a firmware/driver update that fixes the problem I am
experiencing.

The problem is that there is nothing on the page to download. When I go to
the windows update site It doesn’t offer a driver/firmware update???

I cantacted Dell who reminded me my machine was out of warranty but I said
this shouldn't be a warranty issue since MS clearly admits the problem is
their mistake in the KB article.

Machine is a Dell 4600i running WinXP Media Center Edition (I can't find the
"about" command under help to figure out what version) The video card is an
ATI 9000 Low profile. The remote sensor is a VEI OVU400003/00. I have applied
SP2 to XP and kept it on automatic update.

Can anyone direct me to the driver/firmware update the KB article says I
need to download?"
