Hi just a quick update, I installed the DA-1N1-ET and STILL HAD NO HD so I
was puzzled (Installed in seconds and runs great by the way) I had to stop
and look at the basics from ground up. I removed my MCE 2005 machine and
placed my new Vista machine in the same location, Comcast had called around
the same time, asked if I wanted 2 free extra digital tuner's for a year the
Motorola Model 700's to add onto my current group of set top boxes. So when
the Vista machine went into place I installed the 700's and removed the big
old Motorolas. Thats where I went wrong, the 700's do NOT do HD stations only
digital. So my assumption that these new set top boxes were HD capable was
wrong. So my big clunky Motorolas are back in place but doing the job! Im
going to send back the 700's.
Thanks
NOTE: I installed a combination of 2 ATI 650 Pro's also just to check them
out again and both work fine together with HD. Also the DA-1N1-ET works fine
with an ATI installed so I can mix and match any way I like. I also found on
the DA-1N1-ET is this, if I decide I dont want the ATSC tuner to work so I
can use 2 NTSC's together I just unplug the HD antenna during Vista's TV
setup. Vista then tells me it found another tuner but that it has no signal
and reccommends not using it. Then I can mannually install any other NTSC
tuner I want.

"Easy installation of drivers. The Saber da-1n1-eT comes with Microsoft
Vista and MCE certified BDA drivers, which work flawlessly with Microsoft®
Vista.
This combination of features makes the Vista ViewT Saber DA-1N1-EIT the TV
tuner card of choice for both novices and power users. The drivers support
multiple cards so you can install 2 cards for power users who want a dual
digital/ dual analog system."

I haven't checked out the specs on this card before tonight and was
surprised to see they already support multiple card installations. The first
place I looked had them for 82.95 plus shipping after 15.00 rebate. Looks
like a winner to me, now I need to find some customer feed back.

Thanks guys, I assumed that two identical cards were the problem and had
already ordered another tuner of a different brand. Im going to try a
Vista
View DA-1N1-E Combo PCIe Tuner along with ONE ATI 650 Pro. Im going to
remove
one of the 650's from the system Ill use it in my MCE 2005 machine, I was
going to upgrade it to Vista. Ill post again after I put the new card in
later tonight it arrived this afternoon and let you know how it turned
out.

If he is talking about the newer ATI TV Wonder 650 PCI Express, which I

If it's the PCI version then as your post states it's a Hybrid tuner
which
makes it a very poor choice because only one tuner can function in MC.
ATI
hasn't had the best record for marketing tuner that perform as they
should
in MC and are not generally competitively priced.
Well I assumed wrong, I thought the PCIE version was on the market, I
read
reviews back in July but there doesn't seem to be any for sell yet so JW
your advise applies.
By the way I have a Hauppauge 1600 and a Avermedia M780 is a PC together
and
they get along well. That box also has two Avermedia A180 cards in the
mix,
one of the few cards I'm sure that installing two is not a problem.

The ATI 650 card is a hybrid tuner and not a true dual tuner card since
only one of its tuners can be used at a time. Since Both tuners can
not
be run simultaneously MC lets you configure only one of them. Other TV
TV
applications including ATI's own app will let you configure and select
either an NTSC tuner / S-video analog connection or a digital ATSC at a
time.
The Hauppauge 1600 card and the Avemedia Dual PCi tuner support
concurrent
use of both tuners in MC since these cards are true dual tuner cards,
the
tuners act just as if they were on separate cards to the OS and to MC.
Your 2 STB work just fine since they feeding the analog tuner part of
the
card.

Hi there, I encountered a problem in Vista MC with dual ATI 650
tuners.
1st
system details, Quad core, ATI 2600 HD video, 2gb ram, Dual 2 ATI 650
Pro
tuners, Intel DP35DP motherboard.
Im a system builder and would like to get this resolved so I can sell
Vista
MC's.
I have Comcast digital cable with 2 set top boxes. I run the Vista MC
TV
tuner wizard. Get a message that the 2 tuners have slight difference's
so
I
have to install both manually, it finds both and both tuners are
working
independently (2 IR blasters) (Ran MC and an XBox360 together same
time
both
change channels prefectly and separatly) But when I go to ANY HD High
Definition channel the MC gives me a message to wait then the screen
goes
black, if I use the Up Down channel changer I can locate any digital
station
in the channel 1 thru 999 and view it as long as it is NOT an HD
channel.
If
the channel I locate is a HD high Def channel then black screen. Ive
checked
TheGreenButton only found a way to make 1 single 650 Pro work as NTSC
and
ATSC but nothing about the Dual problem I have. I did find a guy who
left
a
review at PCAlchemy on the 650 Pro's who mentioned he was having
almost
the
same identical issue. If only 1 single tuner is installed then ALL
stations
can be viewed perfectly including HD High Def, add a second tuner and
the
HD
content goes away? Any ideas or known fixes? Is MS aware of this
issue?
Thanks
