If you are trying to use Media Center, then you should not have installed
WinTV as it is not necessary (this is mentioned at the Hauppauge download
page http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_hvr1600.html#drv)
What you do need to do is to make sure that the soft-encoder is installed.
This is located within the MCE_Softencoder directory.
The card you have works great when it is properly setup. If not, then it
will fail (which would actually be expected).

Visit www.hauppauge.com and ensure that you have the latest published
Media
Center drivers for your card.
Dear Mr. Knox,
I did go and download "the drivers" It installed "WinTV" which worked
for a few days. But one day, It just quit working. The Haupauge card is
still under "Sound, video and game controllers" in "Device manager" Under
the "General" tab it says "This device is working properly." It show no
IRQ confliccts. NO hardware changes
Actually no software changes.
I don't think that the media center/ Haupauge video card is supposed to
actually supposed to work. It's just more bells and whistles. Why?
I hate Vista.

I have an HP Pavillion media Center TV Pc
It has a Hauppauge Win TV HVR-1600 NTSC/ATSC Combo tuner card
The card Shows up in Device manager. But in the "media center" it
doesn't
see it.
NO Tuner Found!
I have 16 "Chat" transcripts from HP, from spending hours on the HP
chatline. They know nothing!
The whole thing ended with them sending me a new card... NO Tuner
Found!
Does anyone have any Ideas?
