Re: Configure Media Center for Direct RCA or S-Video Input

Since I don't know how to sort it out, I'll toss the ball back to you.

Are you aware that this newsgroup is read by, and answers are provided by, volunteers who have (with very few exceptions) no connection to Microsoft?

So you are just as likely to be able to fix it as most of the people here.

Well, having posted a similar question and subsequently finding THIS post, I have to say that this is PATHETIC.

Surely it can't be that hard to add a simple button to select the composite or S-Video inputs... nor could it be too difficult to allow you to SKIP the darn IR extender page.

Sort it out please.

Unfortunately, you can't. Any time you select a method that uses RCA or S-Video, MCE assumes you're using a set top box and will try to set it up for that, including configuring the IR emitter for controlling the STB.

Hi,

I am trying to use my camcorder with Media Center.
There doesn't seem to be a "S-Video" or "RCA" selection.
There only seems to be some automatic "Set top box" or "Satellite" configuration.

I can see the video in either "RCA" or "S-Video", so I know it is connected properly,
but it won't let me get passed the IR device not detected part.

Any ideas on how to directly connect the camcorder to media center without the automatic configuration
to a "Set Top box" or "Satellite"?

Thanks,
