You have enough memory and your hard drive is a good size.
Dell support for the drivers and BIOS upgrade. Check which Bios you have currently.
When you boot, hit the pause key just as the first text comes on screen.
You can then read the current BIOS version on the screen. If your BIOS is the the same version as the one on the download site, do not update. Check the date for 10/29/2002.

I would still do a Clean Install.

Depending on the age of the computer, the first thing I would do, is check
the manufactuers website for any Motherboard BIOS upgrades and Motherboard
drivers.
Update the BIOS.
Download Motherboard drivers, do not install them at this time. You will
need the Motherboard drivers when you Clean install Windows XP Media Center
2005. Burn them to a CD, if you have a CD/DVD Burner
The next thing I would do is do a clean install of Window Media Center 2005.
