Re: tv recordings -corrupt or missing files

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Try in Windows XP (close Media Center).
Start > Run. Type cmd [Enter]
At the the prompt type sfc /scannow [Enter]

That is a space between 'c' and '/'.

You must have the Media Center OEM installation CDs (two).
That command will scan your system for missing, corrupt files, and changed files.

To get help on the command type sfc /? at the command prompt.
If you do not have the CDs, you are out of luck.

Me, again - I did that but it didn't work. In Media Center anything to do
with recording is faded and connot be run. Is there a media Center cd to
just reinstall the program? or do you know what files run the recording part
of the program - You have worked with me all day. thank you -you don't have
an easy job. els
