I have done as you said - Wintv2000 was downloaded to my machine. it plays
the television and can record (I am assuming the card is ok) so it must be a
problem with the Media Center? I still cannot schedule tv recordings -thank
you very much again - Els

Its possible that your card has failed. You may want to check the Hauppauge.
web site for updated drivers, and not rely on HP.

Pay special attention to Step 2 and run the HWCLEAR application to remove
all traces of the previous drivers.

I have tried re-running setup and it says tuner unavailable -there are no
errored out hardware devices and I have tried updating the drivers. My HP
computer has an application and driver recovery. Two drivers are listed
for
tv tuner 1. conexant falcon II 2. hauppauge wintv pvr pcI II driver. The
Hauppauge is listed in the hardware. So do you think I need a new one?
Everything works but recording - I wish I knew which "files" are missing.
I
appreciate your help- Els

Re-run TV Setup and ensure that your tuner is detected correctly. If
not,
go to Control Panel, Device Manager and ensure that there are no errored
out
hardware devices. And last, but not least, check the manufacturer's site
for your tuner card and make sure you have the latest Media Center
compatible drivers for your tuner card.
