That does not mean that MCE can not read the 0-9 number codes or the CH up.
and down buttons.
But there are some Set Top Boxes that use a tuning code that MCE is not
capable of sending.
A good example is a 4DTV Satellite receiver. It uses a Satellite and
transponder number system. To tune any given service, you must have both the
Satellite location and the channel number on that satellite.
MCE just sends out channel numbers. No Satellite locations.
MCE has no way to control the 4DTV satellite box.
The only thing you can try is the "learning" mode on the Media Center Remote
setup.

so is there a way of adding the code?
If MCE2005 didnt read this remote then why is it excepting the buttons
from
1 to 0 and Ch Up/Down?

that doesnt answer my question? I know the ir blaster needs t ocover
the
STB
receiver area. But i cannot get the MCE remote to work with the STB?

Many users have had trouble finding the right location on their STB to
place
the IR blaster they incorrectly place it the location where they see
an
IR
xmission. Using your STBs own remote use it very close to your STB to
be
sure you have the correct location for the receiver. And then hang
the
IR
blaster at that location with a small gap between the blaster and the
STB.

Hi MCE experts, I’m having issues with my HVR1300.
I was told its one of the best on the market.
I have installed it on my media centre with MCE 2005 and it works
well
with
MCE2005 but i cannot getting working to change channels with my
Satellite
Receiver?
I have a Strong 4658x Receiver and the MCE 2005 picks up the
composite
of
the 1300 and all the channels come up.
But when i get the IR to learn the remote control it goes thru the
steps:
Steps: 1 to 12 learning all the buttons 1 to 0 and Channel Up/Down.
Then when i go to change the channels on MCE2005 on the MCE remote
the
channel doesn’t change. So in conclusion the MCE remote doesn’t work
changing
the channels with the IR bluster/extender?
The IR extender is plugged in to "1" behind the transmitter and I
get
the
2
Flashes on the IR Extender when changing the channel on the MCE
remote
but
I
just cannot get it working.
Can anyone please help me?
Thanks
Erhan
