2002 WMC with service pack 2 hangs at the Welcome screen while loading

You can maybe restore the default Internet Explorer 7 settings.
Before you do, have you scanned your computer for malicious software?

Start IE7, Tools > Internet Options:
Security Tab, Reset All zones to Default level.
Advanced tab, Reset Internet Explorer Settings, click Reset Button.

Close, Restart IE.
Good luck!


Resetting Security Zone to Default Level appears to have done the trick.
