Cool, now it's going to stand by mode without a problem - and it seems
to stay there?

So is the solution to buy a externally powered USB hub?
I suspect that there is a hardware problem either in the USB port or
the remote sensor so that the message you forgot to quote is generated.
It could also be caused by a software bug, but I think not, or it would
be reported frequently instead of only once ;-)

So you don't think the problem would be solved by getting an external
USB switch/hub?
I don't think it's a problem with the receiver as it have worked
before - as i recall it was after i updated all drivers, updated
windows MCE, and installed some programs it began to do this.

A USB hub with an separate remote did the job... now it goes to
standby without a problem.
Just can't seem to make it wake from standby, but ill make a separate
thread for that.

Thanks for you're help!

Well, I'm surprised :-)

I thought that your computer's port might be bad, in which case the hub would be plugged into the bad port, or that your IR receiver was bad; in either case, the hub wouldn't matter, AFAIK.

However, since you say you've used a new receiver, I now wonder if it would've worked without the hub.

But now you're down to only one problem left... Good luck.
