hey - thanks for all the help so far...

I don't have the WinTV2k app.... The tuner card only came with drivers, no
other applications. It is supposed to be used with MCE.

I'm using cable as my source, with no set top box. I've tried setting up the
tuner as both antenna and cable input with the same result.

I can't record any shows, and it gives the message "There is no TV
signal....."

Thx for any pointers

Can you run the Hauppauge WinTV2K TV application program?
Are you using an Antenna or cable as your source?
Can you play the sample recorded TV programs?
Can you record a program?

I installed the NVidia PureVideo decoder, with the exact same results.
I cannot test a dvd - I have no dvd drive. I replaced it with another HD.

Were you using the ATI MMI application previously? I believe that is
what
the ATI decoder is for or for ATI All In Wonder cards.
I suggest that you try the NVIDIA Decoder 30 day free trial.
Are you having any problems playing DVDs in MC?

I've been down that road...

I am using the decoder provided by my graphics card (ATI MPEG Video
Decoder,
version 9.12.0.60131) - the utility says it is MCE compatible (as is my
graphics card, ATI Radeon X1550) - but I am suspect of the tool since
it
also
seems to be checking something against Windows Media Player 10, and I
have
version 11 installed.

Use the following utility to insure that you have MCE compatible
decoder
software and that is set at the preferred decoder.
A blaster is needed if you try and configure a ATB.

I'm trying to set up a fresh install of MCE - everything is
configured
correctly except everytime I try to view Live TV, all I get is a
black
screen
of static as if there is no input.

When I go to configure the TV Tuner (Haupauggue pvr-150-mce), it
selects
the
correct input and shows me live tv during the setup process, but
afterwards
it seems to lose/forget the setting and just shows static.

One note, I do not have a IR blaster - there are a few paths to
configure
the tuner card. One path does not seem to request/require an IR
blaster,
another does (which I cannot make it all the way through). Is this
related?

All latest drivers, compatible with MCE, etc....
