That KB Article is the appropriate one.But if you are not sure how to manage the registry then it's better to leave that.And if you want to go ahead with the instructions as described in the mentioned KB Article(812489) then make sure to back up the registry before you modify it.

So here comes the easy alternative for you.Download and install TweakUi.
