Re: Windows Media Center is not showing up...

Well, not that it solves the problem, but HP is supposed to support the OS
since it is preinstalled and not a retail version. So HP is kind of "passing
the buck" rather than help you figure out the problem.

HP said that it was an issue with Windows and not hardware related. Like I
related before, it was in my program list before but has vanished. The new
shortcut I created with the information that was given to me, did create
the
MC icon but when clicked it gives the error mentioned below. Don't know if
it
is related to permissions or what. I don't recall resetting anything that
would effect that.

Since it is a brand new system, what has HP told you?

It created the shortcut just fine, but when clicked, it gives an error
"Windows cannot open this program because it has been prevented by a
software
restriction policy. For more information contact your administrator." I
am
the admin but am at a loss as to how to fix this problem. Need more
help
please

Are you the Administrator?
You may create a shortcut with a target %SystemRoot%\ehome\ehshell.exe
and a start in :-%SystemRoot%\ehome
