Not sure I understand what you see. In the case where you go directly to TV
or recorded TV after connecting, what happens and what do you need to do to
recover from it?

I have the exact same problem (Freezing after a few seconds when accessing
through Xbox 360) .
After playing around with it and trying these fixes, I noticed that if I
don't go directly to TV or Recorded TV I can access photos then back up to
regular tv and recorded TV.
I didn"t find an Intel DH in the Edit Program Library area.
I've got a Compaq Presario SR2332X, NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE, with 1 GB Ram
I also am running Norton

that
does) was causing the issue. This add-in was installed by default on my
HP.
Thanks, Todd! You were very helpful.

Which third-party add-ins do you have installed? You can check this
within
Media Center by navigating to Settings->General->Program Library
Options->Edit Program Library. Try temporarily disabling any add-ins
listed, restart your PC, and see if you still see the same behavior.

Todd - To answer your questions:
- When the UI is unresponsive, no process spikes in the Task Manager.
- The RAM usage doesn't go up too much. It goes from ~50% to ~59%
when I
start WMC (stays at 59 once it starts working again).
- It seems that if I press the "Media Center" button again (after 20
seconds
or so) that it will start responding again.
- My PC is an HP m8020n, completely stock. It's got a Core 2 Duo
e6420,
2.13
GHz with 2 GB of RAM.
Tom - Kinda of nice to know it's not just me.
- Is MSFT planning a patch for this?
Thanks, guys.

During the time that UI is unresponsive, open Task Manager on your
PC,
select "Show processes from all users", and check whether any
process
is
consuming high quantities of CPU cycles. Also, double-check your
RAM
usage to see if it is high during this point of time. Finally,
what
are
the specs of your PC? (RAM and CPU in particular)

When I boot up my 360 and go into WMC mode, it connects to my
Vista
Home
Premium HP PC fine. After a couple of seconds of responding
normally
to
my
remote, the 360 freezes for around 30-60 seconds (always in the
menus
still),
and then starts working normally again.
In other words, I can normally navigate 2 -3 button presses (e.g.
get
to
my
Recordings list before it freezes, but not actually start playing
the
recording until after the long delay).
Any ideas what I can do? Otherwise, I love Vista and using WMC
thru my
360,
but this long unresponsive delay EVERY time I turn on the 360 is
very
annoying.
Btw, my PC's Power management settings: Multimedia setting>When
sharing
media> "Allow the computer to enter Away Mode". This prevents my
PC
from
shutting down my HDD even when I put it to Sleep.
Thx!
.
