Your digital STBs can only send a 4:3 SD resolution to the analog tuners on
your 1600 cards using either RF or S-video IAW the NTSC analog standard.
Any HD programs they tune to will be downscaled to accomplisth this.
The digital tuner antenna connection on your 1600 cards will receive the OTA
SD and HD digital stations you can receive in your area.
You need to check in your TVs user manual to be sure your TV will accept
1080p resolution over the interface you are using and then make sure that
when you set your PC desktop to this resolution that your PC deskotp
applications work fine and the system will reboot Ok with these settings.
Only then should you try and get the MC display settings to match.

I have been using Media Center with my 36" tv(not HD) for 3 years and was
very happy with it.
Last weekend I bought the Insignia NS-37LCD HDTV and I am still having
problems with the the switch to HDTV.
First, I had to throw away my 2 TV tuners and change them for two ATI 1600
HDTV tuners thaT SUPPORTS HDTV signal. Then also had to also throw away my
2
setup boxes and change them for their upgraded HDTV version.
I hooked all that together. It does work but with a major glitch: I am
missing portions of the entire image.
I found out that it was because of my display setting being to 1024x768. I
figured I had to change it to 1920x1080. So I did it. The only problem is
that as soon as I open the Media Center application, this automatically
resets the setting to 1024x768!!!! Then I saw that in the Display submenu
of
the Settings menu(of the Media Center Application), there was a place to
configure the display settings. But at some point it ask to select the
correct setting from a List Box, but guess what..... the list is empty, so
I
cannot select anything, the NEXT button is inactive, and my only option is
to
back out and do nothing......
Any idea on what to do?
Thanks!!!!!
