The User Profile Hive Cleanup service may prove helpful here:

Hi Todd, I tried both your suggestions, neither worked. Creating the new
default folder did nothing. I checked to see if Windows placed anything in
the new folder I created. It didn't, I assume it should have.
Your second suggestion brought a new problem. I created a test account,
and
when I tried to log on using that account, I go the same error message I
got
when trying the 360 connection:
"Windows cannot log you on because your profile cannot be loaded. Check
that you are connected to the network, or that your network is functioning
correctly. If this problem persists, contact your network
administrator.
DETAIL - The system cannot find the file specified.
Can you direct me to someone who know User account settings? Something is
way wrong here.
Thanks,,
Wade

Couple more things you can try:
- Rename the existing default user folder as there may be something
corrupt
inside it and then create a new default user folder
- Create a new non-admin account on your PC (via the Users control
panel);
do you see a similar error as you do when you try to add an Extender?

Thanks Todd, but the default user folder is there. I have an HP 7690
media
center, the default user is HP_administrator, which is what I log into
everyday and use as my admin account also. This use has the default
user
folder already.
So this work around is not the answer.
I tried the suggestion of rolling back to Media Player 10, That didn't
work
either.
I am stumped. My network functions properly, the xbox 360 tests out
fine.
I
am on a wired network so it's not a wireless adapter issue at all.
Any other ideas?

Hi ALl, After I plug in the 8 digit security code, the PC then
attempts
to
connect to the 360, I get this error in a pop up dialog box:
Windows cannot log you on because your profile cannot be loaded.
Check
that
you are connected to the network, or that your network is
functioning
correctly. If this problem persists, contact your network
administrator.
DETAIL - The system cannot find the file specified.
The network is fine, all other functions are good. It appears that I
have
a
problem getting the extender account set up.
